More than double the contribution that we make towards our Skills Development Levies for the year is spent on training of previously disadvantaged staff members. Furthermore, we believe in sharing our industry knowledge, and are involved in a number of training projects in conjunction with the National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF).
We undertake pro bono work on a regular basis for a range of deserving organisations, including:
- Pretoria Sun Gardens Hospice
- The Association for Autism in Pretoria
- The Brits-Hartbeespoort Hospice.
We also pay the school fees of a deserving young girl, ensuring a proper education for one of tomorrow’s leaders.
We handpick our suppliers based on stringent criteria, including quality of supply, ability, reliability, affordability and compliance with employment and B-BBEE equity. Currently, 100% of our suppliers are B-BBEE compliant, affording us full accreditation in this category according to the B-BBEE Act.
Kashan promotes employment equity through its internal employment policy, and all of Kashan’s shareholders, as well as 80% of our employees, are women. We have a stable staff complement (30% black).
